Mrs. Jennie Mae Rhodes Worthington, 84, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away peacefully at Crenshaw Community Hospital on Wednesday, April 13th, 2022. Funeral services for Mrs. Worthington will be held at 2 PM on Friday, April 15th, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Rev. Malcolm Butts and Rev. Al Freeman officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery in Glenwood with Rev. James L. Worthington officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Worthington dedicated her life to taking care of others as she worked with Home Health for the State of Alabama until her retirement. She was also a dedicated member of Patsburg Baptist Church for over 50 years where she educated many a child in biblical knowledge through their Sunday School program and enjoyed singing with the choir. Mrs. Worthington enjoyed music in general, especially her beloved Elvis, as well as exploring her more creative side through painting. She took pride in tending to her garden and cooking scrumptious meals for those she loved. She was always up for a trip to some of her favorite places. Above all, she cherished the time she was able to spend with her children, grandchildren, and friends. She was a phenomenal grandmother, the kind who would do anything for them...up to and including dressing up as a pickle for a birthday party! There aren't enough words to express how much she was loved and will be missed, but her loved ones will find comfort in all of the treasured memories they made over a lifetime.
Mrs. Worthington was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. Worthington; parents, Ray Curtis Rhodes and Nancy Duncan Wright; and brother, William Rhodes. She is survived by her children, Kenneth R. (Jennie) Worthington; James L. (Tiffany) Worthington, and Jennifer W. (Zachary) Sewell; grandchildren, Channing Sewell, Annie Kate Norwood (Joshua Hinton), Storm (Lindsey) Worthington, Chelsea Worthington, Savannah Jones, Logan Worthington, James Aiden Worthington, and Landon La Salle; great-granddaugther, Addelyn Norwood; siblings, Claudie (Henry) Tidwell, Wayne (Patricia) Rhodes, and Donna (Charlie) Lowe; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
