WALKER, Mr. Jerry Stephens, Jr., 81, a resident of Luverne, AL died Wednesday, October 05, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, October 8, 2011 from Brantley Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Precht and Ashley W. Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Ida Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Walker is preceded in death by his parents, J.S. & Susan Jayroe Walker. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bobbie Moseley Walker; two children, Debbie (Jim) Tatum and Steve (Jama) Walker; five grandchildren, Tres (Rachel) Tatum, Bobby (Lisa) Tatum, Amy Walker, Brittany Walker, and Stephen Walker; his great granddaughter, Darby Tatum; sister, Ina (Paul) Peters; and brother, Dr. Pat (Sandy) Walker. Active pallbearers will be Tres Tatum, Bobby Tatum, Stephen Walker, Paul Peters, III, Patrick Walker, and Bernie Sullivan. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Children’s Home, the Mt. Ida Cemetery Fund, or to Brantley U.M.C. Building Fund. The family will receive friends at Turner Funeral Home Friday evening from 6 – 8 pm.
