Jerry Michael White

Mr. Jerry Michael White of Luverne, AL passed away Thursday, June 27, 2024 in Slocomb, AL surrounded by his family.

The family will receive friends at Luverne First Baptist Church on Friday, June 28, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The family will also receive friends Saturday at Sorrells Funeral Home beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continuing until service time.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2024, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb with Rev. Johnny Strickland and Rev. David Hall officiating.

Mr. White was born June 24, 1952, in Slocomb, AL to the late Jack and Katreen Hundley White. Jerry graduated from Slocomb High School in 1970. He married the mother of his children Gayle Creel White on August 7, 1976. He was employed with Farley Nuclear Plant for 25 years retiring in 2008. Jerry was an avid Auburn fan, who enjoyed farming, and spending time outdoors. He was quite a storyteller at all the family gatherings. Mr. White was a loving Daddy and Pa.

In addition to his parents, son, Jerry Micah White; sister, Jean White Crawson preceded him in death.

Survivors include his daughter, Kristin Sims (Josh), Athens, AL; grandchildren: Eden Sophia Sims, Naomi Faith Sims, and Katie Grace Sims all of Athens, AL; sisters: Martha Noyes (Michael), Cataula, GA, and Wanda Crawford (Lamar), Slocomb; brothers: Joel White (Patsy), Headland, Ricky White (Martha), Slocomb, and Johnny White (Connie), Pansey, AL; mother of his children, Gayle White, Owens Crossroads, AL.; brother-in-law, Alvin Crawson, Bonifay, FL; nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
