SASSER, Jesse Alvin,91, a resident of Brantley, died Wednesday, May 19, 2010.
He is survived by his wife, Alee Johnson Sasser; his son, Jesse A. Sasser, Jr.(wife Frances) of Atlanta; and daughter, Jane Sasser Moore(husband Doyle) of Birmingham.
He had four grandchildren: Raine Sasser Pipkin, J. Strock Moore, Stewart D. Moore, and Margaret W. Sasser. Mr. Sasser was born February 24, 1919, in Brantley, Alabama, and resided there most of his life. As a child he received the moniker “ Hot” by which he was widely known for the rest of his life. He served in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II from 1942 until 1946. He was involved in various businesses that took him throughout South Alabama, South Georgia, and South Mississippi during his life. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed the part of Creation where the Lord had placed him.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 11AM from the Brantley Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Tate officiating. Interment will follow in Brantley Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home on Luverne directing. The body will lie-in-state at the church for 30 minutes prior to services. In lieu of flowers the family request that any memorial donations be made In Memory of Jesse A.
