Jesse Edmond Tadlock

Montgomery

Jesse Edmond Tadlock, 64, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Tuesday, April 16th, 2024. Funeral services for Jesse will be held at 11 AM on Friday, April 19th, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Pate officiating. Interment will follow in Luverne Emmaus Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday for one hour prior to the service.

It is rare to meet someone whose enthusiasm for life was as contagious as Jesse's was. Not only was he blessed with an outgoing personality that virtually ensured he never met a stranger, but his curiosity about the world and refusal to ever stop learning were truly inspiring to all those who knew him. The man actually taught himself how to play three musical instruments, the guitar, piano, and harmonica, and did so to the extent that he was able to write hundreds of songs over the years. Oh, and his smile could absolutely light up a room because it came from this natural joy he had for life in general. How could you not have some of that same joy rub off on you?! Jesse's ability to always find something productive to do with his day was truly a sight to behold. If he wasn't working outside on his tractor, he was likely inside finding instructional YouTube videos just to learn something new that day. He was certainly an inspiration for so many as to how to live as fulfilling a life as possible.

Jesse proudly served his country with the United States Army and was honorably discharged with the rank of sergeant. He was also a devoted member of the Millbrook First Assembly of God, and there were few things he loved more than singing gospel hymns with his church family there. In his free time, he tried to get away as often as he could over the last few years to find a quiet fishing spot at the beach just to bask in the beauty of all God has created. Otherwise, there was no better place to relax than his own back porch where he could identify every animal that wandered past by the name he had given it.

Above all, Jesse was just a family man at heart. He absolutely adored big family get-togethers, but any time spent with the precious grandchildren who called him "PawPaw" was by far the times he cherished the most. Both his children and grandchildren always knew that if they needed anything, all they had to do is call PawPaw and he would handle it. Even better, he never once made them feel like they were putting him out or bothering him. He meant the world to every single one of them and words cannot express how much he will be missed by them, but they will find comfort in all the wonderful memories they will hold close to their hearts as he continues to live on in their hearts and minds for years to come.

Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, Edmond Edsel & Mary Skipper Tadlock, and sister, Barbra Ann Tadlock Wood. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Tammy Summers Tadlock; children, Justin Tadlock, Amy (Kyle) Franklin, Amy (Jamie) Laird, and Sonya (Matt) Payne; grandchildren, Bradey Peavy, Archer Peavy Hunter Thomas, Georgia Payne, Lila Payne, Sarah Payne, and Ada Rae Franklin; siblings, Charles (Shelia) Tadlock, David (Linda) Tadlock, and Kim Smiley; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Bradey Peavy, Archer Peavy, Shannon Wood, Rusty Wood, Kevin May, Matthew Tadlock, Josh Tadlock, and Elliott Tadlock.
