Jewel Evelyn Pynes

PYNES, Mrs. Evelyn Qualls, age 95, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, January 28, 2016 from the chapel of Turner Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Tate and Rev. Kenny Horn officiating. Interment will follow in Luverne Emmaus Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Pynes was preceded in death by her husbands, George Qualls and Willie Frank Pynes, parents, Daniel and Ada Lee Sunday Jordan, sister, Clara Mathews, and four brothers, Frank, Gerald, Brady, and Tamedge Jordan. She is survived by four children, Dana Free, Dianne (Michael) Weaver, Susan (Charles) Tompkins, and Ben (Susan) Pynes, ten grandchildren, Jim (Tonya) Free, Dusty Free, Randall (Bridget) Free, Michele (Chad) Carpenter, Daniel (Ashley) Weaver, Holland Sport, Susannah Sport, Samuel Tompkins, Mark Pynes, and Melissa Pynes, and twelve great-grandchildren, Casey (Jason) Browder, Clint Free, Brock Free, Jacob Free, Gracie Free, Anna Claire Free, Evelyn Free, Colby Carpenter, Avery Carpenter, Shelby Carpenter, Blake Weaver, and Natalie Weaver. Active pallbearers will be Jim Free, Dusty Free, Randall Free, Daniel Weaver, Brock Free, and Clint Free. Her great-grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family requests that any memorial donations be made to the Darien Cemetery Fund or to Vidette Community Center. They will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 27, from 6-8pm.
