DORMAN, Mr. Jimmy Cyril, 67, a resident of Brantley died Thursday September 20, 2012. Funeral services will be 2 pm Sunday September 23, 2012 at Pleasant Home Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Norris officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Before Jimmy’s retirement in 1996, he was employed with the Army Aviation Support Facility #1 in Montgomery, Alabama for 31 years. After retirement he returned to work for 10 years with the Alabama Army National Guard Counterdrug Aviation Program, serving a total of 41 years and 10 months with the Alabama Army National Guard. He came home to enjoy his remaining days still working hard on a small rural farm. Mr. Dorman is preceded in death by his parents, Cyril and Evelene Qualls Dorman; a sister, Janice D. Cooper; a nephew, James C. Clark; grandparents, Calvin and Docie Dorman and J.C. and Vallie Morrison. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, JoAnn Wood Dorman; daughter, Sonia Dorman Williams; two granddaughters, Anna Marie (Mark) Sanders and Courtney Blaine Wolfe; one great grandson, Granddaddy’s pride and joy, David Riley Sanders “Lil Buddy”, sister, JoAnn (Lawrence) Little; one nephew, Michael George (LeChelle) Clark; along with several great nieces and nephews, numerous friends, and a wonderful, loving church family. Active pallbearers will be Drew Norman, James Lee, Terry Underwood, Connie Grant, Wayne Dicks, Wyatt Reeves, Ron Skipper, and Curt Shull. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6-8 pm.
