Mr. Jimmy Lavon Mount, 74, a lifelong resident of Rutledge, Alabama, passed away peacefully at Crenshaw Community Hospital on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. A graveside service for Mr. Mount will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, January 21st, in Rutledge Cemetery with Rev. Walter Brewer officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
Mr. Mount was a beloved son, brother, and uncle, who was cherished by all those who knew him. He loved his time spent at the Crenshaw County Adult Daycare and the staff so much that he felt like a part of them. At home, there were few things he enjoyed more than raising chickens, and they apparently felt the same way as they usually followed him around wherever he went. He faithfully attended First Baptist Church of Rutledge, where he was fast friends with Mrs. Charlotte Flynn. He was a bright spot in so many lives and he will be sorely missed by all of them.
Mr. Mount was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. & Louise Bolling Mount; five brothers, Junior Mount, Bobby Mount, Arnold Mount, Kenneth Wayne Mount, & Jerry Mount; and an infant sister. He is survived by his three siblings, Allen (Jacqueline) Mount, Sue (Dwight) Senn, and Nita McGough, and a host of nieces and nephews.
