SPORT, Mr. Jimmy Lewis, 75, a resident of Tallassee, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2018. A memorial service for Mr. Sport will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, April 14, in the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Minister Richard Sport officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Sport proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for a number of years and went on to become a medical technician at Community Hospital in Tallassee. He was preceded in death by his son, John Travis Sport; parents, Willie Rex and Susanna “Dollie” Merrill Sport; and two brothers, Jerry Paul Sport and Hugh Mac Sport. Mr. Sport is survived by his wife, Shelia Bass Sport; son, Walter Rex (Lucy) Sport; three stepchildren, George (Emily) Jordan, Arron (Karrie) Jordan, and Jessica Price; six step-grandchildren; sister, Joan Sport Ballard; five brothers, Charlie Sport, Joe Rex (Barbara) Sport, Terry (Dot) Sport, Robert (Martha) Sport, and Richard (Ann) Sport; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family requests that any memorial donations be made to the Luverne Emmaus Cemetery Fund. They will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 - 11 AM.
