Mr. JM Emmett Crowe, 81, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away peacefully at Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida on January 12th, 2023.
JM was a character and most definitely one of a kind. He proudly served his country with the United States Army and was actually in West Germany during the Berlin Crisis, which was the last political-military incident of the Cold War in Europe and culminated in the erection of the Berlin Wall. After his discharge, JM settled into the quiet life of a hard-working mechanic. He certainly believed in keeping himself busy at all times and enjoyed working with his hands. In fact, he actually built his home himself and proudly put his green thumb to good use in his garden. He was generous to a fault and never shirked giving someone help when they needed it. He was strong-willed and determined, but those were traits that always served him well during his lifetime. Above all, he was a loving husband and family man who cherished the people he was closest to over the years. Words cannot express how much he will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
JM was preceded in death by his sons, Jimmy Crowe & Dennis Crowe; parents, James M. & Mary Alice Henderson Crowe; and siblings, Faye Johnson, Ethel Smith, Clarence Crowe, and Marion Crowe. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Glenda Waites Crowe; children, Stacy Adcock and Amanda (Tim) Worley; grandchildren, Krystal Palomino, Joshua (Elizabeth) Crowe, Allen (Xena) Adcock, Destinee Oates, and Alyssa Dean; several great-grandchildren; siblings, James (Mona) Crowe, Carolyn (Donnie) Wilkerson, and Roy (Sharon) Crowe; numerous nieces & nephews; and close friend, Chris Jones.
A celebration of JM's life will be held at 1 PM on Monday, February 6th, at the Tom Harbin Farm Center with Brother Stae Sanders officiating.
