Mr. John Michael Jones, 31, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away suddenly in a motor vehicle accident on Saturday, October 16th, 2021. Funeral services for Mr. Jones will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, October 19th, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in Luverne Emmaus Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
John Michael was an outgoing, happy-go-lucky type of person who made friends extremely easily. He truly had a heart of gold and the rare soul who was loved by everyone who knew him. He had a passion for his work as a pipeliner and appreciated the life it afforded him, including the ability to indulge in his love of travel. He loved to keep busy even in his free time, which so often included tending to the various horses and cows he owned over the years. He had a gift for working with his hands and even worked in construction for a time. He was a diehard Crimson Tide fan and loved cheering on his team in their big games. Above all, however, he was a dedicated husband, father, son, and brother who loved his family more than anything else in his world. He has been taken from them far too soon, but they will find some measure of comfort in the cherished moments they shared during his lifetime.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his grandparents, Watkins & Mary Jones; grandfather, Hartwell Sasser; and uncle, Danny Sasser. He is survived by his loving wife, Lindsey Nelson Jones; children, Mari Michael Ann Jones, John Lindsey Jones, Jude Merritt Jones, and Alyssa Wolfe; parents, Mike and Debra Sasser Jones; brothers, Thomas (Carla) Jones, Jason (Megan) Sasser, Greg (Heather) Jones, and Elliott (Candy) Jones; grandmother, Ruth Worley; uncle, Ben Jones; aunt, Deanna Williams; and several nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers will be Thomas Jones, Randy Moore, Jason Defee, Brandon Defee, Ryan Brown, and Matthew Sipper.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6 - 8 PM.
