John Carroll Keener

KEENER, Mr. John Carroll, 77, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2017. A graveside service for Mr. Keener will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, May 27, in Cherokee Memory Gardens in Centre, Alabama with Minister Christopher Hale officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Keener proudly served with the United States Marine Corps. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Leathy Hester Keener, and sister, Nellie Hale. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Linda Morris Keener, son, Matthew (Melanie Harris) Keener, three grandchildren, Madison Elizabeth Keener, Matthew Bryce Keener, and Shelby Lynn Keener, and a special family member, Melissa Mathews. Active pallbearers will be David Morris, John Morris, Bryce Keener, Dillon Harris, Johnny Hale, and Jeff Hale. The family will receive friends at Turners Funeral Home on Friday, May 26, from 6 – 8pm.
