John Elkanah Owens

OWENS, John Elkanah, 81, a resident of Highland Home died Sunday, October 12, 2014. Funeral services will be at 10AM, Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Sardis Church of Christ with Minister Dennis Sanders officiating.. Interment will follow at Sardis Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Owens was preceded in death by is father, Donald Owens and Mother, Lillie Mae Daniels; and brother, Tommy Owens. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary A. Owens; five children, Gary(Sandra) Owens, Donna(Tim) Faulk, Tina(Lee) Mathis, Vickie Jude, and Cathy O’Hare; twelve grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Active pallbearers will be Lonnie McGough, Jonnie McGough, Trent Brown, Ricky Brown, Calvert Duncan, Stuart Horne and C.J. Faulk. The family will receive friends at the Sardis Church of Christ on Wednesday from 9AM until service time.
