John Frank Smith

Mr. John Frank Smith, 82, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away in his home on Saturday, February 25th, 2023.

John proudly served his country with the United States Marine Corps after high school. He also worked as a long distance truck driver for a time before eventually moving to Florida to work as a crane operator with large construction companies there until his retirement. He and his wife, Marsha, eventually retired to Alabama where he could spend his golden years exploring plenty of fishing holes and going deer hunting with the many hunting buddies he made here. Above all, he was a loving family man who loved his family and was loved very much in return.

John was preceded in death by a daughter, his parents, and his siblings. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Marsha Giddens Smith; children, William (Danielle) Rainey, Donna (Brian) Robinson, and a daughter from a previous marriage; and grandchildren, Emily and Brian Rainey.

The family will hold a memorial service for John at a later time.
