John Travis Williamson

Mr. John Travis Williamson, 88, a resident of Goshen, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at Luverne Health & Rehabilitation. A private graveside service will be held for the family in Darien Cemetery.

Mr. Williamson was born in rural Crenshaw County on October 12, 1931 to Rex and Lucy Williamson. He was a 1950 graduate of Luverne High School and served four years in the United States Air Force. After an honorable discharge, he attended Massey-Draughon Business College in Montgomery, and then worked as an accountant for the State of Alabama Department of Revenue until his retirement. He was a member of a weekly bowling league while he lived in Montgomery, and he also liked fishing until his health declined. He was a big sports fan, and especially enjoyed watching football and baseball.

Mr. Williamson was preceded in death by his parents, Rex & Lucy McLeod Williamson; two siblings, Kate Grayson and Terrel Williamson; and two brothers-in-law, Pearson Goode and Howard Grayson.

He is survived by his two sisters, Joyce (Cecil) Spear and Judy Goode; sister-in-law, Linda Williamson; and several nieces and nephews.
