BOWEN, Mr. Johnnie H., a resident of Honoraville, Alabama, passed away on Friday, November 16, 2018 at the age of 67. Johnnie was born to parents James Early and Mattie Bell Bowen on January 10, 1951. He had seven siblings, three of which preceded him in death: Jeanne Morris, Jackie Bowen, and Gail Kimmons. His surviving siblings are Jamie Bowen, Yancey Bowen, Roscoe Bowen, and Dona (Joe) Wright. Johnnie proudly served his country in the United States Army where he met his heart and soul, Kong Chin Bowen (Candy). After his service ended in Korea, they began an incredible marriage that exemplified the definition of love for over 45 years. He was a loving father and friend to his sons, Justin Bowen and Joshua (Shelley) Bowen, and adored his grandchildren, Hope (Cade) Favor, Grace Bowen, and Bailey Bowen. The family will be receiving friends for a visitation and time of remembrance at Turners Funeral Home of Luverne on Tuesday evening, November 20th, from 6:00-8:00pm. No formal funeral or graveside services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Parkinson Association of Alabama or the American Cancer Society.
