Hollis Johnson "Johnny" Robinson Jr, 69, a resident of Grady, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his daughter's home in Montgomery, Alabama on Sunday, January 19th, 2025. A celebration of Johnny's life will be held at a later time.
Johnny was a proud alumni of Luverne High School and an amazing athlete who went on to play football at Auburn University. After earning his master's degree, he went to become a businessman, visionary, and entrepreneur whose ventures included scheduling hunts for tourists and others on prime hunting land. Being an avid outdoorsman and hunter served him well in his business and he thoroughly enjoyed his chosen occupation. Johnny also made sure to inspire and take care of younger generations as he helped organize and lead several youth revivals during the 1990s. No surprise given the strength and enormity of his faith in his Lord, whose good news he loved sharing with others. In fact, he also served as a deacon at Bradleyton Baptist Church. Above all, he was a loving father and grandfather who will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Hollis Johnson Sr and Minnie Margaret Davis Robinson. He is survived by his children, Lindsey (Chad) Russell, Justin Robinson, and Jodie Robinson; grandchildren, Christian & Niya Robinson, Silas, Anna Margaret, Lillian, Sarah Elizabeth, and John Robert Russell, and Claire Robinson; sisters, Annette (Maurice) Stainback and Ginger Robinson Holly; nieces, Alycia (Chuck) Crews and Amelia (Mark) Manning; nephews, JP Holly and Jeremy Holly; and numerous other extended family members and friends.
