Joseph Aaron Martin Sr

Mr. Joseph Aaron Martin Sr, 80, a resident of Opp, Alabama, passed away on Friday, February 1, 2019. Funeral services for Mr. Martin will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, February 6, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Live Oak Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Martin owned and drove his own long-haul truck, which allowed him to travel the country for 45 years with his wife, Jo Ann, by his side. They shared many of those miles with their beloved canine companions. Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his parents, Comer Jackson and Susie Mae Wingard Martin, and his brother, James Comer Martin. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Jo Ann Bradley Martin; their four children, Joseph Aaron Martin Jr, Joan Martin (Bobby) Wallace, Robert Anthony (Tammy) Martin, and Tamala Martin Connley; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brother, Jack Martin; and many special friends. Active pallbearers will be Mike Lundsford, Josh Lundsford, Curtis Phillips, Christy Weaver, Coy Connelly, Mike Bradley, and Mike Campbell. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1 - 2pm.
