Josephine Holland Partridge

February 25, 1919 — July 24, 2012

PARTRIDGE, Mrs. Josephine Holland, 93, a resident of Luverne died Tuesday July 24, 2012 in a Mobile hospital. Funeral services will be 11 am Thursday at the Luverne First Baptist Church with Rev. William Leverette and Rev. Donnie Burns officiating. Interment will follow in the Luverne Emmaus Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Partridge was a graduate of Luverne High School and Judson College. She taught school many years at Luverne Elementary School and Crenshaw Christian Academy and was a devoted long time member of Luverne First Baptist Church. Mrs. Partridge is preceded in death by her husband, Edward R. Partridge; her parents, S.B. and Lala Holland; and two sisters, Eleanor Britt (Rex) Sikes and Marjorie (Ed) Turner. Survivors include two sons, Rosh (Linda) Partridge of El Dorado, AR and Philip (Sally) Partridge of Mobile; three grandchildren, Barron (Jana) Partridge of Mobile, Ted (Isabel) Partridge of Atlanta and Molly Partridge of Birmingham; one niece, Joy (Tom) Rue of Mobile; four nephews, Edward (Mary Lee) Turner of New York City, William (Sally) Sikes of Raleigh, NC, Gary (Debbie) Partridge of Birmingham and George (Linda) Partridge of Montgomery. Active pallbearers will be Edward Turner, Barron Partridge, Ted Partridge, Tom Rue, George Partridge and Gary Partridge. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 10 am until service time. In lieu of flowers the family requests that any memorial donations be made to The Luverne Emmaus Cemetery, Luverne First Baptist Church, Crenshaw Christian Academy, or to one’s favorite charity.
