Mrs. Joyce Marie Fowler Garner, 75, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama and formerly of Brantley, Alabama, passed away peacefully at Florala Health & Rehabilitation on Saturday, October 9th, 2021. A memorial service for Mrs. Garner will be held 1 PM on Friday, October 15th, in the Chapel at Turners Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Defee officiating and Joannie Garner offering the eulogy.
Mrs. Garner dedicated her life to taking excellent care of multiple generations of her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was well known as the neighborhood "mom" during her sons' childhoods. They remember how well she modeled what it was to be a selfless and caring person to so many. She was especially fond of traveling to the mountains and spotting the various wildlife on her trips. At home, she was a phenomenal gardener, able to coax her flowers to thrive anywhere she planted them. She also enjoyed sewing in her younger years. However, there was nothing in this world she adored more than her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were the light of her life, and she enjoyed doting on every single one of them throughout the years.
Mrs. Garner was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Garner; parents, Kyser & Mary Atwell Fowler; and brothers, Jenkins Fowler and Bill Fowler. She is survived by her three loving sons & daughters-in-law, Gary & Amy Garner, Phillip & Peggy Garner, and Tim & Joannie Garner; grandchildren, Seth Garner, Josie Garner, Tyler Garner, Jill Garner, Brittany Garner, Tyler (Allie) Griffin, and Kerri Griffin; six great-grandchildren; her sisters, Mary, Betty, and Barbara; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Family and friends will gather at the funeral home at the service time.
