Ms. Judy G. Pinckard, 70, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, July 12, 2021. A graveside service for Ms. Pinckard will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, July 15th, in Mt. Zion Cemetery with Rev. P.J. McClung and Brother Jason Pinckard officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
Ms. Pinckard was a proud graduate of Troy University where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. She then went on to work as a sergeant with the Alabama Department of Corrections for 32 years before her retirement. Over all those years, she developed close relationships with many of her fellow officers. Many of those same officers credit Ms. Pinckard for being an important influence in their lives through her love, patience, and kindness. In her free time, there were few things she loved more than cheering on her beloved Crimson Tide football team on Saturdays in the Fall. She also loved spending time with her beloved canine and feline companions over the years. More than anything, she was a devoted aunt who loved spending time with her family, especially with her nieces and nephews. She was a bright light in all of their lives and will be deeply missed.
Ms. Pinckard was preceded in death by her parents, William & Ethel Chancellor Pinckard, and five siblings, David Pinckard, Faye Hartin, Mackie Pinckard, Willie Pinckard, and Steve Pinckard. She is survived by four siblings, Donna (P.J.) McClung, Snow (Julie) Pinckard, Cherry (Billy) Armour, and Cathy Pinckard, and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Her nephews will serve as active pallbearers.
Family and friends will meet in the cemetery at service time.
