Judy Holland Teague

July 5, 1947 — April 24, 2024

Andalusia

Judy Holland Teague, 76, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away peacefully at Andalusia Manor on Wednesday, April 24th, 2024. A graveside service for Judy will be held at 11 AM on Friday, April 26th, in Black Rock Cemetery with Rev. Steve Smith officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Judy was a role model for everyone fortunate enough to know her due to her grace, kindness, compassion, and a loving heart. She was always supportive of all of those she knew and loved no matter what they did or were going through. When the Lord said, "Blessed are the peacemakers," Judy definitely spent her life living up to that command, especially when she had a family full of strong personalities! She was also a gifted seamstress who enjoyed working at a local textile factory for many years, but at home there was no place she'd rather be than tending to her bountiful garden alongside side her dear husband. Her family was always happiest to see her in the kitchen because they knew she was going to be whipping up something delicious for them to eat (her biscuits and tomato gravy were a particular favorite for many of them).

Judy also had a lifelong passion for music, whether it was the Big Band and Classic Country hits of her youth or the gospel songs she loved to sing in her later years, few things made her heart soar like beautiful music. Above all, she cherished her role as "Granny" to a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren (both by blood and by love). She lived for the times she was able to spend with the family she loved more than her own life, and she leaves behind a treasure trove of memories they made together that will allow her to live on in their hearts and minds.

Judy was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, George Teague; son, Roman Clayton Bowlan; granddaughter, Miranda Wolfe; parents, Henry Harvey & Mattie Faye Wallace Holland; and siblings, Roger Clayton Holland and Lisa Diane Redman.

She is survived by her children, Mitchell (Martha) Bowlan, Sandra (Mark) Cook, Sam (Kamelia) Bowlan, James (Jessica) Bowlan, Wayne (Shelia) Teague, and Karen Janese Dobbs; grandchildren, Linsley (Jordan) Dale, Brett Bowlan (Nancy-Canon Thackston), Brittany (Taylor) Mount, Brooklynn Bowlan, Hannah Bowlan. Haley (Austin) Rancatore, Presley Bowlan, Jackson Bowlan, Tony Bell (Caleigh Edwards), Aubrey Bell, Dalton Bell, and Kayden Bell, Leon Dobbs, and Gary (Brittany) Dobbs; great-grandchildren, Peyton, Axl, Jackie, & Taylor Mount, Kaydence & Madaleigh "Maddie" Rayburn, and Emmalee Ann Dale; siblings, Cathleen Bolling, Allen (Rene) Holland, and Lamar (Sandra) Holland; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
