Julie Ann Bragg

August 20, 1953 — August 3, 2024

Lapine

Julie Ann Addison Bragg, 70, a resident of Lapine, Alabama, passed away Baptist East Medical Center in Montgomery on Saturday, August 3rd, 2024. A private memorial service will be held at a later time.

Julie was born and raised a military brat and followed the same path beside her husband during his many years of service with the United States Air Force, which included years spent both all over the continental United States and abroad. Her love of animals meant that she fully enjoyed her job grooming dogs every day. At home, she raised her own chickens and loved taking care of them, and even bred pugs for a few years. She felt equally at home with nature tending to her garden as she did finding targets for shooting practice or finding a comfortable spot indoors to read a new book or watch one of her favorite TV shows.

Above all, Julie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who was always loving and generous with everyone in her life. To her nieces and nephews, she was their beloved "Aunt Jewey" and to the grandchildren she loved beyond measure, she was their cherished "Grammin." Julie packed a lot of life and love into her too short 70 years on this earth. Words cannot express how much she meant to all those who knew and loved her and will be missed by all of them.

Julie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Bragg Jr, and parents, Hoyt & Gladys Niles Addison. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jared & Karen Bragg and Justin & Brittney Bragg; grandchildren, Carter Bragg and Nolan Bragg; siblings, Cynthia (Dennis) Hall, Jo-Ann (Dean) Williams, and Hoyt Addison Jr; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
