Julius Nelson Norris Jr

Julius Nelson Norris Jr, 83, a resident of Pintlala, Alabama, passed away peacefully in his home after a brief illness on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2024, while surrounded by his family. A funeral service for Julius will be held at 2 PM on Friday, January 5th, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday for an hour prior to the service, but there will be no interment ceremony following the chapel service.

Julius was an honest and upstanding man who took enormous pride in his work, and he was always diligent in everything he did. He started Norris Tree Service in 1968, serving both Montgomery and the surrounding area, and proudly did so for 50 years until his retirement. He was that rare individual who truly loved what he did, and his hard work was always appreciated by everyone he did work for. He was a resident of Pintlala for nearly 30 years, and was active in his congregation with the Kingdom Hall for many years. In his free time, there were few things Julius loved more than spending time in the great outdoors, primarily feeding and observing the many deer that visited his property. Above all, Julius was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family more than words can possibly express. He will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved him, but he will continue to live on in their hearts for many more years to come.

Julius is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Debbie Wood Norris; children, Evelyn Lori Norris, Julia Lynn Norris Schultz, Julius Nelson Norris III, Deidra Jenelle Norris, Natalie Nicole Norris, Iris Ayana Duncan, and Vera Laine Duncan; and a host of beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members, and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Gage Mann, Austin Fannin, Mills Fannin, Stephen Fannin, Clayton Fannin, and Cameron Fannin.
