Mrs. Karen Byrd Brasier, 68, a resident of Bay Minette, Alabama and formerly of Luverne, passed away suddenly on Friday, September 4, 2020 at North Baldwin Infirmary. A graveside service for Mrs. Brasier will be held at 11 AM on Monday, September 7th, in Joquin Cemetery with her sons delivering the eulogy and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
Mrs. Brasier was a trailblazer, becoming a computer programmer during a time when the industry was almost entirely male-dominated. In her free time, she enjoyed painting, various arts & crafts, and decorating. She had a strong independent streak, and never did anything halfway. She did not shrink from challenges in life, but continued to live it on her terms. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be sorely missed by all those she leaves behind.
Mrs. Brasier was preceded in death by her parents, Gene & Jane Taylor Byrd, and brother, Kenneth Eugene Byrd. She is survived by her husband, Larry Brasier; two sons, Aaron (Jennifer) Schuller and Jamie McCutchen; and three grandchildren, Evan McCutchen, John Mastin Vellianitis, and Parker Vellianitis.
Active pallbearers will be Larry Brasier, Aaron Schuller, Jamie McCutchen, Dayton Dawkins, Woody Watter, and Bob Williams.
