Janese Teague Dobbs, 66, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, March 7th, 2025, while surrounded by her family. A graveside service for Janese will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, March 11th, in Black Rock Cemetery with Rev. John Massey officiating and Turners Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:30 to 1:30 PM.
Janese learned early on that some jobs just weren't her calling after a brief stint at Sister Schubert's resulted in her coming home many a night with flour in her hair! Instead, she was truly a born caregiver due to her kindness and empathy for others and so enjoyed helping to take care of others throughout most of her professional career. With her quiet, reserved demeanor, she certainly thrived in that environment, but she was strong-willed and determined enough to not let anyone push her around. Ultimately, she was such an easygoing spirit who just loved everyone and everyone loved her in return that it's no surprise how much her services were in demand.
In her free time, you could often find her enjoying some of her favorite medical dramas like ER and Grey's Anatomy with her preferred Pepsi Cola and Cheez-its! She also loved her Tweety Bird cartoons and merchandise, but there were few things she loved more than bonding time spent with her dearly beloved mother. Most importantly, Janese was a devoted wife and mother who doted on her sons with every bit of her heart and soul. She loved all of her family so very much and cherished every moment they were able to spend together. At times, she could be a little bit too selfless because she never wanted to bother anyone, but never understood that loving someone means they are never consider you a "bother." She meant the world to everyone who knew and loved her and words cannot express how much she will be sorely missed by all of them, but they can find comfort in the knowledge she has been reunited with her beloved Bo.
Janese as preceded in death by her beloved husband of 32 years, Leon "Bo" Dobbs; father & stepmother, George & Judy Teague; and siblings, Angela "Angie" Teague and Steve Johnson. She is survived by her cherished sons, George Leon Dobbs and Gary (Brittany) Dobbs; step-grandchildren, Zachary & Emma Colquitt; mother, Jewel Black Johnson; siblings, Wayne (Sheila) Teague, Scott (Joni) Johnson, Sandra (Mark) Cook, Mitchell (Martha) Bowlan, Sam (Kamelia) Bowlan, and James (Jessica) Bowlan; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Travis Johnson, Braden Johnson, James Bowlan, Stuart Teague, William Dobbs, Randall Ballard, Jeremy Thornton, and David "Skeeter" Kelley.
