It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, Oma, and friend, Karlin Wright on Tuesday, June 22, 2021. She was born on December 7, in 1952, in Ulm, Germany to Wilma Illg. She spent her formative years of her childhood in post World War II Germany with her grandmother. In 1959, she was reunited with her mother, Wilma, in Highland Home, Alabama. Six months after arriving, her mother went to be with the Lord. Karlin remained in Highland Home and graduated Highland Home High School. After graduation, she married and had her first son, Bret Massey, in 1973. In 1981, she married her current husband, Tim Wright. They moved to Fort Deposit and in 1983 they had their son, Jonathan. She owned and operated her own beauty shop in Fort Deposit for 40 years. She loved making her customers laugh and hearing about their lives and things going on in the community.
Karlin is survived by her husband, Tim, sons, Bret and Jonathan (Hillary), by her three grandchildren, Graham Massey and Mary Harlan and Millie Wright, and a lifetime of friends. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday at her church, Bethel Baptist at 11 AM, followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall. Flowers may be sent to her home, 85 Cates Road, Fort Deposit, AL 36032 or donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
