Katherine Shows Kersker

Mrs. Katherine Shows Kersker, 82, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2019. Funeral services for Mrs. Kersker will be held at 2 PM on Friday, March 22, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Brother Stae Sanders officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mrs. Kersker was well-known and loved for her sassy attitude towards life. She also truly loved her family, almost as much as she loved her Alabama football.

Mrs. Kersker was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kersker; parents, Dan and Cora Lee Majors Shows; and four siblings, Edna Earl Liller, Betty “Dolly” Pilgreen, Chris Carter, and Willie Shows. She is survived by her four stepsons, Alton (Peggy) Kersker, John (Rita) Kersker, Faron (Susie) Kersker, and Robin Kersker; six nieces and nephews, Cindy Majors, Gary (Cheryl) Gibson, Kim (Bill) Hilton, Scott (Michelle) Pilgreen, Leslie (Tammy) Liller, and Reba Boswell; and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, and many other loved ones.

Active pallbearers will be Scott Pilgreen, Bill Hilton, Andrew Hilton, Karl Eiland, Jerry Hudson, and Donnie Bodiford. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1 - 2pm.
