Katie Gunter Morse

Ms. Katie Gunter Morse, 46, a resident of Rutledge, Alabama, passed away suddenly on Friday, February 15, 2019. Funeral services for Katie will be held at 2 PM on Monday, February 18, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Rev. Nick Gaines officiating. Interment will follow in Siloam Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Katie was a free spirit who was frequently teased for her love of sleeping. Fishing was one of her favorite things to do, which was also a favorite family activity. She was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, and sister, and she will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Katie was preceded in death by her sister, Rachel Michelle Roberts, and her stepmother, Polly Gunter. She is survived by her five children, Kaitlin Smith, Jonathan Thomas, Keisha Thomas, Justin Thomas, and Jason McMillan; grandson, Jaiden Smith; her mother and stepfather, Patsy & Bill Roberts; her father, Grover Gunter; four siblings, Lynn (William) Marcum, Glen (Holly) Gunter, Josh Gunter, and Ricky (Angie) Roberts; and several nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Troy Owens, Russell Gunter, Allyn Riley, Al Riley, Bo Mount, and Harley Hall. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1 - 2pm.
