Kenneth Rufus Harris

Mr. Kenneth Rufus “Bear” Harris, 69, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 31, 2020.

Mr. Harris was always extremely good with his hands. He applied that skill in his working career as he specialized in drywall on construction jobs. That gift also served him in his true passion, working on classic cars and trucks. He had a special love for Fords. He also loved to “wheel and deal” when it came to acquiring and selling those vehicles. He was indeed a big Bear of a man, which showed in his love for his family and others. Above all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert & Lessie Mae Sexton Harris, and five siblings, Wilson Harris, Bonnie Posey, Gene Harris, Jimmy Lester Harris, and Jane Harris. He is survived his loving wife of over 20 years, Shellia McCarthy; three children, Kenny Harris, Steven Harris, and Jody (Heather) Rogers; five grandchildren, Destiny Brown, Tyler Harris, Caleb Harris, Jacob Rogers, and Chase Rogers; two brothers, James (Grace) Harris and Robert Harris; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Active pallbearers will be Ollie Godwin, Joey Godwin, Hunter Posey, Lamor Grey, Chad Seekers, Lee Kelly, Jody Rogers, Jonathan Harris.
