Kenny Taylor

Kenny Taylor, 68, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away at Baptist Medical Center South on Friday, August 22nd, 2025. A celebration of Kenny's life will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, August 24th, at Petrey Community Center with Pastor Dusty Taylor officiating.

Kenny absolutely loved his job as a sales representative with Hicks Incorporated. After over 25 years there before his retirement, that man knew the catalog frontwards and backwards by heart! Not only did he enjoy the business and all the people he met through his many years there, but also just loved his co-workers with all of his heart. No doubt he was loved back just as much because if there was one thing Kenny was it was that he was simply generous at heart.

At home, Kenny loved fishing at the family cabin on the pond and gardening. He was also an excellent woodworker, able to make and sell both rocking chairs and swings...and his dogs, Izzy and Nat were often right by his side. There were few things he enjoyed more than hanging out with the best friend he had in this world, Charlie Sport. Above all though, he was a devoted husband, father, and "PawPaw" to the grandchildren he simply adored. Words cannot express how much he was loved nor how much he will be missed, but comfort can be found in the knowledge that he is no longer suffering in his heavenly reward.

Kenny was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Taylor; parents, Ed Taylor & Mary Sansom Bodiford; and siblings, Charlotte Taylor Majors and Sherry Taylor. He is survived by his wife, Cindy Harrison-Taylor; his sons, Darrin (Rebecca) Taylor, Derek Taylor, and Dusty (Peyton) Taylor; grandchildren, Sawyer Edison Taylor and Miley Taylor (Nick) Stewart; great-granddaughter soon to make her appearance, Georgia-Rhodes Stewart; mother of his children, Janice (Terry) Hayslip; brother, Mike (Lisa) Taylor; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Hicks Incorporated will serve as honorary pallbearers.
