Larry Wayne Sasser Sr

Mr. Larry Wayne “Frog” Sasser Sr, 67, a resident of Brantley, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2019. Funeral services for Mr. Sasser will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, May 7, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Rev. Rocky Pierce officiating. Interment will follow in Weed Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Sasser was the owner and operator of Sasser & Sons Logging, Inc. Frog, as he was affectionately known, loved few things more than the logging business. When he wasn’t out in the woods, he enjoyed spending his leisurely time fishing or hosting cookouts with family and friends. Above all, Frog was devoted to his family as a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and he was just as loved in return. He will be sorely missed by all those he leaves behind.

Mr. Sasser was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Rosiland Walden Sasser; his infant brother, Oscar Robert Sasser; and his beloved canine companion, Bruno. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathie Sasser; his two sons, Larry Wayne Sasser Jr and Oscar Wayne (Candace) Sasser; stepson, Randy (Katie) Beach; sixgrandchildren, Tyler James Wayne Sasser, Kody Lee Sasser, Eli Gauge Sasser, Clara Beach, Alexis Beach, and Roston Beach; niece, Pamela Baker; nephew, Paul Baker; a special cousin, Randy Sasser, and numerous other cousins.

Active pallbearers will be James Taylor, Paul Cook, Parrish Hartmann, Greg Prettyman, Seth Copeland, and Danny Killingsworth. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Southern Care Hospice for their excellent work in caring for Mr. Sasser. They will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, May 6, from 5 - 8pm.
