Leigh spent most of her working career as an agent with different insurance companies. She was also a faithful member of Glenwood Baptist Church where she was particularly close with her Sunday School class throughout the years. In her free time, there were few things she was more passionate about that spreading love through her cooking and baking. Her family says she never met a cookbook she didn't like, and it certainly showed. Of course, all those who benefited from her delicious meals and scrumptious treats had no objections about it. Above all, however, she was one of the most devoted mothers you would ever have the good fortune to meet. Her son and daughter-in-law, basked in her fierce love and adoration for many years. She thoroughly enjoyed her family beach trips with them. Truly, any time spent with her family was always greatly treasured. She has left them far too soon, but they will find comfort in those precious memories made throughout their lives.
Leigh was preceded in death by her parents, Wilson Hudson & Ruth Tisdale Hughes, and her brother, Carey Wilson Hughes. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Brad & Anne Jeffcoat; siblings, Steve Hughes, Lynn (Denny) Stallings, and Kellie (Bill) Henderson; nieces & nephews, Danny (Selena) Hughes, Blake (Kim) Stallings, Jason (Angela) Hughes, Kayla (Kyle) Bryan, and Derek Hughes; grand-nieces & nephews, Hunter Blake Stallings, Caitlin Hughes, Brody Stallings, Cole Hughes, Meghan Hughes, Jack Bryan, and Lucy Bryan; and her beloved feline companion, Calico.
Active pallbearers will be Danny Hughes, Jason Hughes, Blake Stallings, Kyle Bryan, Hunter Blake Stallings, and Newton Holmes.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Glenwood Baptist Church.
