Linda Thaggard Flint

December 23, 1942 — September 12, 2022

Luverne

Mrs. Linda Thaggard Flint, 79, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away peacefully at Crenshaw Community Hospital on Monday, September 12th, 2022. Funeral services for Mrs. Flint will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, September 14th, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with her son, Rev. Jud Flint, officiating. Interment will follow in Rutledge Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her husband with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday for one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Flint worked for over 30 years as a bookkeeper for T&B Motor Company and City Finance Company until her retirement. She had a head for numbers and it truly showed in her work through the years. In fact, her work was so stellar that she received numerous awards from Ford Motor Company for accounting excellence. She also spent the majority of her life in a second calling, that as a supporting influence to the congregations under her husband's pastoral care. As any preacher's wife will surely tell her, that is not an easy role, but it was one she cherished throughout her life. She had a passionate love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and especially loved worshiping Him through song.

Above all, Mrs. Flint was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished her family more fiercely than anything else in her life. There was nothing she loved more than spending time with all of them. She had a spirited and lively personality who truly lived up to the phrase, "one of a kind." She had a strength and resilience that served her well through the slings and arrows of life. She also had an excellent sense of humor and could hold her own with anyone she ever met. In her free time, she enjoyed increasing her knowledge through reading the biographies of many fascinating people. Mrs. Flint knew the value of quality time spent with the ones she loved and the key was not what she did but who she was with that made life worthwhile. Words cannot properly express how much she will be missed by all those who knew and loved her, but they will find comfort in knowing she has been reunited with her beloved Brooks in their Heavenly reward.

Mrs. Flint was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Charles Brooks Flint, and parents, Iny & Era Merle Massey Thaggard. She is survived by her sons & daughters-in-law, Jarrett & Jeannie Flint and Jud & Becky Flint; grandchildren, Hannah Flint, Alex (Gracyn) King, Matthew Flint, and Morgan King; sister, Janice T. (Chip) Searcy; nieces, Sloan (Tommy) Lusk & Lindsay S. Kimbro; and several loving great-nieces & great-nephews.

Active pallbearers are Jarrett Flint, Matthew Flint, Morgan King, Andrew Kimbro, Jonathan Ganey, and Jimbo Campbell.
