Linda Griffin Powell

Mrs. Linda Griffin Powell, 66, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 9, 2020.

Mrs. Griffin was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a heart of gold and loved taking care of others. She was well known for her generosity and love, and she never met a stranger. Still, she had a spunky personality and rarely had any trouble keeping those she loved in line. She always had an open home and an open heart, which are rare qualities in this world. She was loved & will be missed so dearly, but her family takes comfort in the fact that she is no longer suffering.

Mrs. Griffin was preceded in death by her husband, David Earl Powell; two sons, David Lavon Powell & Earl Powell; two grandchildren, Chase Powell & Denise Danielle Stewart; and her parents, Chester Leroy & Annie Merle Mullins Griffin.

She is survived by her three loving children, Amanda (Mario Mitchell) Powell, Rita Mount (Johnny) Cox, and Jeffery Lightsey; two grandchildren, Carlos Trey Stewart and Cameron Deontrey Mitchell; several step-grandchildren & great-grandchildren; sister, Frances Rhodes; and her special friend, Larry Fuller.

The family will hold a memorial service at a later time.
