Linnie Earle Wright, 92, a resident of Rutledge, Alabama, passed away peacefully at Rose Manor in Haleyville, Alabama on Saturday, January 25th, 2025. Funeral services for Linnie Earle will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, January 28th, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Rev. Neal Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband, with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday for one hour prior to the service.
Linnie Earle earned her LPN license and then dedicated her life to taking care of others as a devoted nurse. She was extremely proud of all of her years of service and cherished every moment she was able to do what she loved most. Given her personality, it should be no surprise to anyone that she would choose her career field. She was always an extremely generous person who continued to help others long into her 80s. It certainly didn't hurt that she was also extremely hard-working, strong-willed, and organized, along with a take-charge attitude to keep others hopping and doing things to the same level of excellence she herself accomplished. She was also the rare kind of person who never made you guess what she was really thinking because she was always an honest and upfront kind of woman.
Chapel Hill Baptist Church only benefited from having Linnie Earle as such a dedicated member there for much of her life. Indeed, she was always a valued asset to both her church and her community due to her constant active work and participation in both. She took great pride in both her home and tending to her yard. Linnie Earle was also a wonderful cook whose chicken dressing was always at the top of everyone's request list. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who cherished her family as her greatest treasure in life. She was "Mama Wright" to her grandchildren and great-grands and "Aunt Earle" to her nieces and nephews who also loved her so much. Words cannot express how much she was loved by all of them nor how much they will always miss her, but there is comfort to be found in knowing how happy she is to be reunited with her husband and their sons.
Linnie Earle was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel James Wright; their sons, Richard Allen Wright and Randall Boyd Wright; parents, Arthur William & Dottie Luckie Godwin; and siblings, Juliette Wright, Bill Godwin, and Mary Lois Bishop. She is survived by her beloved granddaughters, Richelle (James) Tracy, Alana (Seth) Galloway, and Bethany (Marc) Tracy; great-grandchildren, Samuel Tracy, Madison Tracy, Ella Tracy, and Rylie Galloway; daughter-in-law, Dorene Wright Alban; sister-in-law, Margaret Godwin; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Rusty Godwin, Danny Wright, Andy Wright, Gordon Wright, Jimmy Wright, and Jay Faggart.
