Mr. Byron Lonell Wells, 84, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away peacefully at Luverne Health & Rehabilitation on Wednesday, March 11, 2020. A graveside service for Mr. Wells will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, March 14th, in Sasser Cemetery with Rev. Monroe Sasser officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
Mr. Wells was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was devoted to his family, and they loved him just as fiercely. He was a simple man who believed in the value of hard work. In his free time, he loved to hunt and fish, and spent his Saturdays in the fall cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide. He was a special person, and he will be sorely missed by all those he leaves behind.
Mr. Wells was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Sexton Wells, and his parents, Lloyd and Verna Lee Davis Wells. He is survived by his three children, Danny Wells, Connie (Michael) Hurst, and Tim Wells; four grandchildren, Tiffany Hurst, William Hurst, Lainey Wells, and Lindsey Wells; two great-grandchildren, Waylon Hurst and Alexa Hurst; and special family friends, Tana Wells Armstrong and Ashley Simmons.
Active pallbearers will be Justin Eiland, Jesse Davis, Hunter Simmons, Craig Wells, Clifton Wells, and William Baker.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 - 10:30 AM.
