Louis Joseph Boglioli, Jr.

BOGLIOLI, Mr. Louis Joseph, Jr., 73, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2016. Funeral services for Mr. Boglioli will be held at 11 AM on Monday, October 3, at Pleasant Home Baptist Church with Rev. Wesley Hatcher and Rev. Sandy Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Home Baptist Church Cemetery with Michael Marvin officiating and Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Boglioli was born in Montgomery, Alabama on July 2, 1943, and spent his youth in Alabama. He was a proud member of the United States Army, and later lived in South Florida for 32 years while working in the sugarcane industry. He attended Pleasant Home Baptist Church and Brantley Baptist Church. He was a member of the Elk’s Lodge, Masonic Lodge and Freemasons, the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, and the Shriners Train Unit. He enjoyed flying vintage airplanes, fishing, and attending any sporting event concerning his children. Mr. Boglioli was preceded in death by his mother, Leila Graydon Roberson Boglioli, two sisters, Mary Lee Mardis and Carrie Martin, and two brothers, Walter H. Roberson and Vincent Jude Boglioli. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, June Hughes Boglioli, two sons, Louis J. (Joly) Boglioli, III and Jesse Clayton Hughes, sister, Mabelene Roberson, brother, Anthony Boglioli, sister-in-law, Clara Roberson, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and friends. Active pallbearers will be Tony Wood, Seth Wood, Bill Mardis, Ralph Roberson, Kevin Roberson, and Butch Baggett. Honorary pallbearers will be Fletcher Hall, David Woodall, Billy Carpenter, Jimmy Simms, David Spooner, and Johnny Wood. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Shriners or Pleasant Home Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. They will receive friends at the church on Monday from 10 – 11 AM.
