Louise Colquitt Sasser

Mrs. Louise Colquitt Sasser, 94, a resident of Rutledge, Alabama & formerly of Stapleton, Alabama, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on Wednesday, December 16, 2020. A graveside service for Mrs. Sasser will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, December 19th, in Stapleton Community Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mrs. Sasser, affectionately known as “Aunt Louise” to both family and those who felt like family, was one of the sweetest people God ever placed on this earth. She had a powerful love for her family and opened her home to them readily at any time. She took great pride in cooking meals for them and taking care of them. She also made some of the best pies you could find anywhere, and they were special gifts to all of those she loved. She and her husband owned and operated a kennel where they both boarded and trained bird dogs for others. In her retirement, she loved few things more than tending to her beautiful flowers. She was a gift to so many for her 94 years here on this earth, and she will be dearly missed by all of them, but they will find comfort in all of the cherished memories they have made over a lifetime.

Mrs. Sasser was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Sasser; her parents, James Marshall & Dorothy Authur Colquett; and five siblings, Jean Turner, Dick Colquitt, Tom Colquitt, Bill Colquitt, and Steve Colquitt. She is survived by four siblings, Raymond Colquitt, Bo (Irma) Colquitt, Lomax (Clara) Colquitt, and Charles (Mary Ann) Colquett; a special niece, Shelia (Ricky) Kimbro and a host of other loving nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers will be Ricky Kimbro, Turner Kimbro, James “Junebug” Colquett, Steve Phillips, Milton Head, and Brian Russell.
