Mrs. Louise Lawrence Tomlin, 84, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away peacefully at DeKalb Regional Medical Center in Fort Payne, Alabama on Friday, July 23, 2021. Funeral services for Mrs. Tomlin will be held at 11 AM on Monday, July 26th, at Rock Hill Church of Christ with Brother Danny Rolling officiating and the eulogy delivered by Mark Dawson. Interment will follow in Rock Hill Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
Mrs. Tomlin had a deep appreciation for all of the simple things in life that too many take for granted. She had a way of inspiring people to see the beauty of nature and life in general through her eyes. She worked several jobs over the years, but she was proudest of the care she was able to give to her own family and others. She was everything Christ teaches people to be and everyone who knew her felt that special kind of love she shared. What free time she had, she enjoyed spending time outdoors, and adored beautiful flowers. More than anything, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was her life and every single one of them felt the awesomeness of her love.
Mrs. Tomlin was preceded in death by her husband, James Austin Tomlin; parents, Perry & Mary Jackson Lawrence; and seven siblings. She is survived by her children, Ronney Tomlin and Debra (Mark) Dawson; grandchildren, Rusty Tomlin, Cody Dawson, Dusty (Nathan) Henagan, and Amanda Hall; great-grandchildren, AJ, Ella Kate, Morgan, Harley Mason, and Kasey; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers will be Robert Tomlin, Ronnie Thomas, Harold “Bubba” Taylor, Guy Simmons, Gary Simmons, and Willie Hardy.
The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 10 - 11 AM.
