Funeral services for Sissy will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, October 19th, at Chapel Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Charles "Chuck" Francisco officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 12:30 to 2 PM.
Sissy was literally one of the wittiest people you could ever hope to meet. Along with a phenomenal sense of humor, she was also blessed with a smile that lit up every room she entered. You simply couldn't help falling for her charm, primarily because it was easy to spot the true and caring heart behind it. That's the key right there, charm is hollow unless you truly care about the people you interact with and Sissy had that in spades. Beyond her winning personality, she was also extremely intelligent and was always willing to roll up her sleeves to get her hands dirty with whatever work needed to be done. After all, she met the love of her life simply because he came in to get a meal at the new restaurant where she worked and they wound up founding and running a successful trucking business, Eagle Motor Freight, for much of their marriage. Surely her love of people and ability to talk to anyone helped her thrive in whatever she did.
In her free time, Sissy loved nothing more than time spent with her beloved family, whether it was heading to the beach for the sun, sand, and seafood or to Talladega to cheer on her favorite #22, as long as she was with the ones she loved the most that was all that mattered. At home, you might find Sissy watching NASCAR or exploring her more artistic gifts like painting, but you could be assured all of it was done with her faithful canine companion, Lucy, by her side. She also loved to keep her mind active through all kinds of jigsaw puzzles, words games, and such. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, and friend who meant the absolute world to all those who knew and loved her best. Sissy was always the beating heart and soul of her family, whether it was raising their sons or running the business, none of it would have been successful without her, and that is a remarkable legacy to leave behind.
Sissy was preceded in death by her father, Johny Conway Clark. She is survived by her devoted husband of 33 years, Dale Tidwell; sons, Rockford D. Tidwell Jr (Marlee Tunstill) and Matthew Clark Tidwell (Lian Shepherd); mother, Mary Ellen Weaver (David) Pharis; siblings, Johny (Sharon) Clark, Kenny (Marketa) Clark, and Chris (Cindy) Clark; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family members, and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Chad Franklin, Justin Murphy, Coby Sexton, Hunter Boothe, Camron Clark, and Logan Murphy.
