Mrs. Mae Dell Register Brown Weaver, 98, a resident of Highland Home, Alabama, passed away peacefully at Crenshaw Community Hospital on Friday, March 25, 2022. Funeral services for Mrs. Weaver will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, March 29th, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Rev. John Massey officiating. Interment will follow in Salem Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1 - 2 PM.
Mrs. Weaver was a born extrovert. There was nothing she loved more than socializing with her family and friends. She was always quick to throw open the doors of her home to entertain at any time. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas with all of the decorations and family time spent playing Dirty Santa. Though she was blessed with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, they were by far not the only ones who only knew her as "Granny." She was a special way about her for so many to seek her out in difficult times when they were in dire need of comfort or words of wisdom. Mrs. Weaver also had a great love for quilting and cooking up scrumptious dishes. Additionally, she thoroughly enjoyed music, especially bluegrass, and even operated her own dance hall for many years. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-grandmother who simply adored her family as her most cherished treasure. She has lived a long, full life, despite difficult times, but for many she has still left them far too soon.
Mrs. Weaver was preceded in death by her husbands, Leon Brown, Melvin O'Neal Reeves, and Lonnie Weaver; son, Bobby O'Neal Reeves; granddaughter, Heather Dawn Thomas; great-granddaughters, Falyn Jones; parents, Gafford & Emma Posey Register; and brothers, James Thomas Register, Lavon Register, Lyman Register, and RD Register. She is survived by her children, Jo Ann (John) Thomas, Ricky Brown, and Willard (Peggy) Brown; grandchildren, Keith (Karen) Reeves, Dennison (Jessica) Reeves, Alison Kirby, Grant (Diana) Brown, and Kaitlan (Jonah) Phelps; great-grandchildren, Laken (Ryan) Jones, Hayden Kirby, Greyson Kirby, Aubrey Reeves, Lee Reeves, Shelby Reeves, Amber (Jason) Danley, Marianne Reeves, Shaina Brown, Charlie Phelps, and Lucille Mae Phelps; several great-great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Mildred Register.
Active pallbearers will be Drew Rogers, Aubrey Reeves, Hayden Kirby, Lee Reeves, Greyson Kirby, and Grant Brown.
