Margaret Johns Reeves

October 22, 1939 — December 19, 2019

Honoraville

Mrs. Margaret Johns Reeves, 80, a resident of Honoraville, Alabama, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 19, 2019. A graveside service for Mrs. Reeves will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, December 21, in Spring Creek Cemetery with Rev. John Ross Massey officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mrs. Reeves was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. As one of the older siblings out of fifteen, she spent a great deal of time looking after her younger brothers and sisters, and they formed a lifelong bond from it. Her sisters especially remember their many trips together throughout a lifetime that were filled with fun and great adventures. She also spent many years working as a seamstress in Greenville. In her spare time around the house, she could be found tucked away with a workbook, always keeping her mind active. Above all, she loved her family more than anything, and her loving presence in their lives will be keenly missed.

Mrs. Reeves was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Mamie Garner Johns, three siblings, Mary Grace Johns, Louie Johns, and Tab Johns; sister-in-law, Geraldine Johns; and brother-in-law, Tommy Cowles. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, James Lee Reeves; their two daughters, Teresa Carol Reeves and Karen (Keith) Reeves; four grandchildren, Leanna Reeves, Shelby Reeves, Haley Reeves, and Aubrey Reeves; two great-grandchildren, Vera Rose and Collin James; eleven siblings, Frances (Doug) Messick, Ann Cowles, Lynn (Johnny) Tillery, Pat (James) Harrelson, Debra (William) Arthur, Connie (Jeff) Keithley, Jack (Judy) Johns, Pete (Corinne) Johns, Roy Johns, Danny Johns, and Scott (Kathy) Johns; two sisters-in-law, Faye Johns and Cornelia Johns; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers will be Aubrey Reeves, Billy Joe Evans, Jason Johns, Tim Johns, Tracy McMicken, and Tony Messick.

Family and friends will meet in the cemetery at the service time, which will be followed by a gathering at the church.
