Marie Harris Morgan

MORGAN, Mrs. Marie Harris, 84, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2018. Funeral services for Mrs. Morgan will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, January 6, at the First Baptist Church of Luverne with Rev. Clay Crum officiating. Interment will follow in Brantley Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Morgan was preceded in death by her parents, Houston and Eppie Harris, two sisters, Nell Dale and Frances Rasmussen, and three brothers, Dorman Harris, Willard Harris, and Johnny Harris. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, James Richard Morgan, three children, Carol (Tim) Jackson, Jimmy (Cindy) Morgan, and Elizabeth (Jarrett) Flint, eight grandchildren, Timothy Jackson, Michael Jackson, and Isabella Jackson, Trey (Mallory) Morgan, Emily (Jonathan) Smith, Alex King, Morgan King, and Matthew Flint, 3 great-grandchildren, Caroline Smith, Charlotte Smith, and Cooper Morgan, two brothers, Woodie Harris and Luel (Penny) Harris, and numerous nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be Timothy Jackson, Michael Jackson, Trey Morgan, Alex King, Morgan King, and Matthew Flint. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either Crenshaw Christian Academy, 608 Country Club Drive, Luverne, Alabama 36049 or to one’s favorite charity. They will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 9:30 – 11 AM.
