Marilyn Strickland Clark

CLARK, Ms. Marilyn Strickland, 69, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2017. Funeral services for Ms. Clark will be held at 2 PM on Monday, November 6, at the First Baptist Church of Luverne with Reverend Clay Crum officiating. Interment will follow in Luverne Emmaus Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Ms. Clark dedicated much of her life to teaching with the Autauga County School System. She was preceded in death by her father, Emmett Carl Strickland. Ms. Clark is survived by her two daughters, Shawn (Brent) Barker and Leigh (Will) Tampling, five grandchildren, Benjamin Barker, Madeline McGuire, Clark Barker, Johnson McGuire, and Amelia Tampling, her mother, Trubie Merle Strickland, and brother, Michael (Catie) Strickland. Active pallbearers will be Travis Ballard, Darrin Ellis, Gary Killough, Tom Luke Jr., Billy Strickland, and Mike Strickland. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Montgomery Cancer Center, 4145 Carmichael Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36106 or to one’s favorite charity. They will receive friends at the church on Monday from 1 – 2pm.
