Marlin Bernard Jeffcoat

April 4, 1931 — March 28, 2025

Luverne

Marlin Bernard Jeffcoat, 93, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 28th, 2025. Funeral services for Marlin will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, April 1st, at Campground Methodist Church with Rev. Dunford Cole officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery there with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday for 10:30 to 11 AM.

Marlin proudly served his country with the United States Air Force where he trained both to be a culinary chef and in data processing. He often joked that he only knew how to cook for 50 people or more! Given his later service in the Air National Guard, Marlin was honored to be discharged at the rank of Staff Sergeant. He then went on to pursue a decades-long career selling large scale computers for Honeywell. He finally retired after 25 years with the company, only to finally be able to fulfill his dream of returning to the family farm in his hometown of Luverne. There were few things he enjoyed more than tending to his farm and cows, as well as keeping his tractor running in tip-top shape. In his free time, he also enjoyed restoring old cars and researching genealogy. Above all, he was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of 68 years, Betty, as well as father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. No matter what, he always considered his family his greatest blessing on earth and loved them with all of his heart.

Marlin was preceded in death by his son, Morgan Keith Jeffcoat; parents, Morgan Franklin Jeffcoat and Winnie Mae Butts; and brother, James Mark Jeffcoat. He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Betty Gaspard Jeffcoat; their children, Beverly J. (Mark) Roupe, Sandy Jeffcoat, Marlin Richard (Christy) Jeffcoat, Randall Bernard (Chandra) Jeffcoat, and Lynn J. (Pierre) Lord; grandchildren, Charity Roupe (Matthew) Finley, Shannon (Jason) McDaniel, Stephanie (Clay) Rector, John M (Rachel) Roupe Jr, Dana Hester, Michael (Mandy) Jeffcoat, Amy (Josh) Moman, Brian Jeffcoat, Melissa (Daniel) Denning, Richard (Jenna) Rockett, and Austin Lord; great-grandchildren, Hannah Grace McDaniel, Caleb McDaniel, Noah Clayton Rector, Micah Samuel Rector, Ezra James Rector, Anna Claire Roupe, Addie Kate Roupe, Brayden Wells, Kaitlyn Finley, Eli Finley, Savanah Finley, Kelsey Collier, Katie Collier, Blake Collier, Adam Collier, Jackson Jeffcoat, Ann Elise Jeffcoat, Isla Gray Jeffcoat, Jonah Moman, Naomi Moman, Eisley Moman, Aubrey Denning; and numerous other extended family members and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Jason McDaniel, Clay Rector, Mike Jeffcoat, Josh Moman, Brian Jeffcoat, and Caleb McDaniel.
