Mary Elizabeth Akin

AKIN, Mrs. Mary E., age 87, a resident of Luverne, died Thursday, March 21, 2013. The family will hold a private ceremony for Mrs. Akin on Monday, March 25, 2013 in Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, FL where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Col. John A. Akin, USAF Ret. with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Akin is preceded in death by her husband, Col. Akin, and her daughter, June Jones. She is survived by her grandson, Roland Lee (Tonya) Jones of Brantley, AL and two great grandchildren, Olivia and Carson Jones. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Crenshaw Christian Academy, 608 Country Club Dr., Luverne, AL 36049.
