Mary Qunnie Bailey

Mrs. Qunnie Wallace Bailey, 89, a resident of Brantley, Alabama, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Sunday, January 23, 2022. Funeral services for Mrs. Bailey will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, January 26th, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Brantley with Dr. Waylon Bailey officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mrs. Bailey devoted her life to taking care of her family and home, from raising her own children to being a doting grandmother and great-grandmother later in life. She thoroughly enjoyed cooking, gardening, quilting and sewing. Best of all, she was a devoted Christian, and a lifelong member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She loved her family beyond measure, and was equally as loved by them. She will be sorely missed by all of those who knew and loved her, but they are comforted in her joyful reunion with her husband in the arms of their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Mrs. Bailey was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Rex Bailey; parents, L.A. "Buddy" & Clara Mae Johnson Wallace; and sister, Margie Nell Bailey. She is survived by her children, Joseph (Wanda) Bailey, Deborah (Ken) Lasseigne, and Dianne (Tim) Brown; grandchildren, Jonathan McGinty, Amanda (Hunter) Royal, Christopher (Lindsay) Bailey, and Hunter (Carrie) Brown; great-grandchildren, Brianna McGinty, Brody McGinty, Reid Bailey, Braylen McGinty, Katherine Royal, Kallie Brown, and Bailee Brown; siblings, Belma (Totsie) Keaton, Judy Brown, and Paul (Barbara) Wallace.

Active pallbearers will be Tim Brow, Ken Lasseigne, Jonathan McGinty, Hunter Royal, Christopher Bailey, and Hunter Brown.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Mrs. Bailey's loving caregivers, as well as to the professional and caring staff of Compassus Hospice.

They will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 1 - 2 PM.
