Mary White Best

BEST, Mrs. Mary White, 85, a resident of Highland Home, Alabama, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2017. Funeral services for Mrs. Best will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, September 21, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Highland Home with President Steve NeSmith and Elder William Hendrix officiating. Interment will follow in Sardis Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne officiating. Mrs. Best was preceded in death by her grandson, Steven Lynn Grace Jr., parents, Dowlin D. and Verna Mae McQueen White, and son-in-law, Steven Lynn Grace Sr. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, James Heber Best, four children, Connie Best Martin, Tony Best, Jessica Best Grace, and Tammy Best (Jeff) Dolan, nine grandchildren, Tonya Martin, Tasha (Nick) Martin-Barry, Nathan Best, Jayme Best, Brooke (Tony) O’Hare, Troy Best, Stephanie (Brian) English, B.J. (Rebecca) Urquhart, and Amber Clark, twelve great-grandchildren, two sisters, Betty White (Monte) Rawlings and Shirley White Yarborough, and four brothers, Milford Glen (Peggy) White, Joe William (Mary) White, Clynee Woodson White, and Donald Lee (Liz) White. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 1 – 2pm.
