Mary Jo Garringer

GARRINGER, Mrs. Mary Jo, 75, a resident of Highland Home, Alabama, passed away on Monday, January 1, 2018. Funeral services for Mrs. Garringer will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, January 4, at the First Baptist Church of Luverne with Rev. Clay Crum, Rev. Joe Leverette, Rev. Bo Weed, and Rev. Jim Looney officiating. Interment will follow in Luverne Emmaus Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Garringer was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Roy L. Garringer, son, David Garringer, parents Walter “Buster” and Mildred Young Briles, and brother, George Briles. She is survived by her three children, Roger W. Garringer, John (Heather) Garringer, and Iva (Robert) Duffell, daughter-in-law, Juanita Garringer, six grandchildren, David (Rebecca) Garringer, Amber (Corey) Hester, Jolene Garringer, Jake Garringer, Lauren Duffell, and Jed Garringer, six great-grandchildren, three sisters, Sandy (John) Powell, Betty (Jimmy) Peters, and Theresa Howe, and brother, David Briles. Active pallbearers will be Mike Adams, Wally Lacey, Richard Duffell, Wayne Hollingshead, Corey Hester, and Pat Hicks. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 9:30 – 11 AM.
